Charly Boy Attended Stockholm GAY PARADE
Controversial Nigerian celebrity Charly Boy attended the 2014 gay parade held in Stockholm, Sweden.
The annually conducted event under the title Stockholm Pride celebrates the freedom of expression by the LGBT community and this year took place on Saturday, August 2.
While European countries moved in the direction towards the LGBT community by admitting its rights, Nigerians remain conservative in their attitude toward homosexuality.
In the beginning of the year Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan signed the anti-gay bill outlawing homosexual relationships in the country, with the strict 14-year punishment stipulated for the violators.
In this light Charly Boy's recent tweet sparks another wave of controversies. The message posted by Charly Boy with the photo from the festive event reads:
"At the Stockholm Gay Parade, very colourful. Had fun watching pple publicly expressing themselves."
It would be recalled that just weeks ago the entertainer was involved in a scandal related to Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha, who came to pay tribute to Charly Boy's late father. The singer reportedly stopped the state top official from speaking which caused public humiliation of Okorocha and was tracked by numerous reactions.
