APC Reveals PDP Plans On The Osun Guber Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has allegedly revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) plans to massively rig the forthcoming governorship election in Osun state.

The APC has alleged that the PDP has underground intentions to make the Osun Guber election which comes up Saturday, 9th August, work in its favour by crude or rude means. In a statement issued by the national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the opposition party is willing to rig the oncoming election in 10 major local governments in the state, in addition to the opposition party's plan to get a returning officer who can easily be influenced to do the bid of the party.

Vanguard reports that Alhaji Mohammed also said President Goodluck Jonathan has reportedly told the security agencies that he wants victory for his party at all costs, an admonition that will definitely shape their perception of the election as a do-or-die affair.

Listing out the proposed LGAs to be massively rigged as Ife Central, Ife East, Ife North, Ife South, Olurunda, Iwo, Ifelodun, Osogbo, Odo Otin and Aiyedade, the publicity secretary claimed that many Nigerians who are in support of a free and fair guber election have been giving the APC information on the moves of the opposing party concerning the Saturday upcoming election.

Alhaji Mohammed also claimed that two different results have allegedly been written ahead of the elections while three vice chancellors, one from the North Central and two from the South West, have been penciled down to serve as a returning officer, alleging that the returning officer taking home N1 billion if he works with the doctored results.

The APC spokesman claimed that the opposition party has its plans perfectly mapped out as the massive deployment of security agencies to Osun State will be used to harass many who do not support the PDP.

Calling on the INEC to look into the claims, the APC spokesman said his party will not accept the result of a rigged election and also put up with a "filthy" returning officer in the guber election. He also called on international observers to look into the issues which can affect the results of the election instead of waiting for the havoc to be done by the opposition party. It would be recalled that just recently, President Goodluck Jonathan said in Ile-Ife that the PDP candidate, Iyiola Omisore, would win the Osun guber election.
