Two Soldiers, 12 Others Killed In Taraba Crisis – Police
Following a renewed violence at Ibi, headquarters of Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba state, on Thursday morning, July 31, the Taraba State Police have confirmed the death of 14 persons, including two soldiers.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Joseph Kwaji, who confirmed the incident, said on Friday that no fewer than 14 houses were razed down while property worth millions of naira was destroyed in the violence.
Kwaji said 14 suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, while stating that two AK 47 rifles and several other dangerous weapons were recovered from them.

He, however, said that normalcy had returned to area after a detachment of mobile policemen and military were deployed to maintain the peace.
Mr. Kwaji said investigation into the cause of the crisis had begun.
Meanwhile, it was reported, yesterday that the cause of the ethnic crisis in the area was said to be as a result of an Ibo resident who was robbed of a sum of N200,000 by armed men suspected to be Tiv people and almost died.
