Suicide Bomb Attacks In Potiskum, Yobe, Claim 17 Lives
Up to 17 people died in coordinated attacks on two mosques by two suicide bombers in Potiskum, the main commercial nerve of Yobe State, in the night of July 29, 2014, Tuesday. The number wounded people reached 35, TheNation reports.
Due to chaos and panic in the area caused by the bombings, the initial details were quite sketchy. However, more information was gathered during Wednesday.

The terrorists targeted worshippers during their evening prayer (around 7.30pm) at the Alkali Kalli, close to the Emir’s Palace, and the Sakafa mosque, located close to Potiskum Central Market.
According to a resident, Umar Suleiman, who spoke to SaharaReporters, a suicide bomber had detonated himself along with his car.
The dead and the injured were taken to the Potiskum General hospital. According to a police source, who checked with the hospital data, 17 people died in the attacks, including the bombers. The number of wounded people is 35.
At the same time, the correspondent of TheNation reported about 13 bodies deposited at the morgue of the hospital.
“Many of those on admission (with high degree of fracture) will be referred to Either Nguru or neighbouring Azare for treatment,” a medical worker further disclosed to the press.
The Governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Gaidam, has condemned the attacks, urged the people of the state to cooperate with security agencies in order to tackle the radical elements responsible for the suicide bomb blasts.
President Goodluck Jonathan forwarded his words of condemnation as well on July 30, 2014, Wednesday.
It would be added that one more suicide bomb shocked the Nigerian nation during today, as a suspected female bomber blew herself up at Aminu Kano College of Islamic Legal Studies, around 2.30pm, killing from 3 to 6 students.
