Second Explosion Rocks Kano, Targets Trade Fair Complex

A second explosion has rocked a Trade Fair complex, Zoo road close to Shoprite shopping mall in Kano on July 28, injuring at least 6 people and killing a female suicide bomber.

According to the Nigeria Police Force, the explosion came less than five hours after a blast tore through the Hotoro area of the city, killing no fewer than four persons and a female suicide bomber (about 18 years old), injuring at least 8.

The police said the second bomb blast has occurred again close to Buhari Square at 1.40pm and was also detonated by a suicide bomber, just like the first one.

The bombing was carried out by a lone female suicide bomber estimated to be 19 years of age took place at the Trade Fair complex opposite Shoprite shopping mall in Kano. The Police PRO in the state, ASP Musa Majai, confirmed the development. 

It was gathered that security cordon around Trade Fair complex and Shopite prevented a bomber the access to facilities, made her detonate outside target.

The area has been cordoned off security agents in the city.
