Another Blast In Kano, 3 Dead
Reports reaching us say another explosion has rocked Kano today, July 28.
Official statement just released by the Nigeria Police Force and signed by Frank Mba says the bomb went off about 10.00am at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Mega Filling Station at Hotoro Quarter along Maiduguri Road, Kano. The attack was launched by the suspected female bomber, who "had slipped into the crowd of citizens buying kerosene at the Station before detonating the explosives. The suicide bomber and three others have been confirmed dead, eight persons are injured and rushed to the Hospital.
"It is instructive to note that the Mega Station did not go ablaze due to the security barricade put in place by the Policemen on duty at the station. Such a situation would have clearly complicated the Emergency response."
The security have reportedly cordoned off the area and urging the citizens to stay off the scene, be vigilant and report any suspicious person(s) or activities to security forces.
The NPF later informed that the normalcy has been restored promptly and the nearby roads were open for traffic. The NNPC Mega Station in Kano withstood the blast.
Within the last-week period Kano residents have been targeted by a series of attacks.
Yesterday the attack at the premises of St. Charles Catholic Church in Sabon Gari area killed 5 people.
On the same day police managed to avert the explosion at Isiayaku Rabiu Mosque having recovered the explosives hidden in a Peugeot, which was parked near the mosque.
Five people were arrested in connection with the yesterday's attacks, all currently being under interrogation.
