Liberian With Symptoms Of Ebola Virus Is Reportedly Dead

The Liberian man with the symptoms of deadly Ebola virus has reportedly passed away at a Lagos hospital.

The symptoms of the disease, which has allegedly been noticed on the Liberian at a private hospital around Obalende area of Lagos and reported to public in the afternoon of July 24, 2014, Thursday, might have affected over 30 people, according to the State's Ministry of Health.

The Liberian, who was simply identified as Mr. Patrick Sawyer, used to be a WASH consultant at the Ministry of Finance. The Sun and Trent report that the deceased was quarantined before his death. He arrived Nigeria on Sunday, July 20, 2014, for a conference.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a Liberian government official said the news of Sawyer’s death was relayed to Liberia by the Nigerian Embassy. It should be noted that this death may become the first recorded case of one of the world’s deadliest diseases in Nigeria.

Ebola virus has reportedly killed over 632 people all across countries in Africa since February 2014, in spite of lots of foreign aid to tackle its scourge.
