Also with the contestants that paid the Ooni were the out-going Miss Oodua 2015, Miss Olumo, Miss
Oya and the Miss Oodua 2016 crew members.

The Ooni by tradition is the custodian of the Oduduwa (Oodua) legacy so he is just the right person to lecture the contestants on the virtues of a real Oduduwa and Yoruba woman and what Miss Oodua stands for.
Miss Oodua beauty pageant is one of the activities lined up to celebrate the 2016 Oodua Festival being championed by the Olokun Festival Foundation under the Otunba Gani Adams led Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC).

The Miss Oodua beauty pageant is one of the many beauty pageants hosted by Olokun Festival Foundation in order to promote the Yoruba culture. The grand finale of Miss Oodua holds on Wednesday, January 2o at Hilton Hotel, Ile-Ife, Osun state while that of the Oodua Festival holds on Thursday, January 21 at Ile-Ife and it will be hosted by the Ooni of Ife.
Meanwhile, beautiful 20-year-old Miss Onayemi Olamde, a student of Babcock University, Ogun state beats 13 other contestants to win the 2015 Miss Olokun crown in November, 2015.
