INEC Plans For Osun Guber Elections

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega has made it known today in Abuja that Colour-coding ballot papers will be used for the forthcoming Osun gubernatorial election.

ThisDay reports that the new initiative of colour-coding of ballot papers which INEC used and affirmed its effectiveness during Ekiti polls is a feat that deserves being applauded. While assuring a hitch free Osun forthcoming guber election, Jega  debunked hearsay and untrue rumours about the Ekiti elections adding that the commission paid adequate attention to events at the past election thereby disallowing any kind of fraud.

Revealing how the electoral commission has been in preparation for the forthcoming Osun election by liaising with the National Youth Service Corps Scheme, the electoral boss implored all politicians in the state to shun violence as the election date is close by.

Talking about the recent redeployment of the state electoral commissioner, he made it known that it had nothing to do with the news making rounds amongst many in the state, stating that the act was just to prevent any of the presumed occurrence from happening. It would be recalled that Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), recently accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of perfecting a new electronic rigging method by plotting to hack into the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) database in order to temper with voters’ register.
