The 61 year old retired general declared his new political ambition in the midst of delegates and party leaders of Adamawa Central Senatorial District yesterday. The declaration which was made known just after the impeachment saga of the Governor of the state, Governor Murtala Nyako and ridiculous resignation of his deputy, Bala James Ngillari is going to be a major step at curbing political uproar in the state, according to the two-time Masters Degree holder general.
The general who defected from PDP to APC,but now back to PDP claimed that he was ready to fill up the loopholes in the state if he is allowed to be voted into power as the next governor of the state in three months' time as the constitution has provided for elections to be done three months after a governor resigns.
However, one of the chieftains of the PDP in the state and a former gubernatorial aspirant, Dr. Umar Ardo made it known that the retired general's aspirations are just mere wishes because of the ban that has been put on politicians who defect to APC but quickly retraced their steps back to PDP. The ban which binds affected politicians from contesting for or assuming any office was revealed to be one year.
