Fire Guts Ketu Police Station’s Armoury

A fire outbreak has occurred at the Alapere Police Station in Ketu area of Lagos, in the afternoon of July 20, 2014, Sunday.

The fire outbreak was reported to have started from the weapon store of the station consuming everything in its path. After being refreshed with several explosions from the armory the inferno gutted other sections of the station and caused pandemonium so long as the Lagos State Fire Service came to the scene and stopped the spreading.

According to the bystanders, it took two trucks of the Lagos State fire service to extinguish the fire. However, no official information on the accident, its cause or casualties has been reported, a police officer at the station assured that the case is under thorough investigation. 

The Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos state Police Command, DSP Ngozi Braid, said she has not been briefed on the incident but promised to find out and get back.
