A man who lost most of his jaws after a brutal wolf attack when he was an 11-year-old boy will finally get a face transplant, Guizhou Province, China.

Mr Xiuyou will get a face transplant with missing face muscles and lips

Now, 54 years later, Mr Xiuyou will get a face transplant with missing face muscles and lips. The reconstructive surgery is expected to take 10 hours, and 20 physicians from 10 departments. The second operation to reconstruct Mr Wu's teeth will be carried only six months later after the initial.

Doctor Chen Fei, who will carry out the plastic surgery, said: "The patient's mouth is all missing; the jaws are distorted. It'll be the most challenging surgery I've ever done in the past 15 years.

The surgery will reconstruct his upper and lower lips and his missing face muscles. We'll take two musculocutaneous flaps from his legs, and transplant them on to his face after tailoring them. It involves a lot of nerve and vessel sutures."
