Delta Road Mishap Claims Two Lives
Two persons reportedly lost their lives on July 18, 2014, Friday, in an auto crash that occurred along Udu Bridge, Udu local government area of Delta state.
According to the Nation, three others persons sustained various degrees of injuries in the crash.
A witness said the crash involved a Volkswagen Passat wagon, marked EKP 288 AA, conveying five passengers including the driver. He said the tragedy which occurred at about 5pm, killed one of the passengers on the spot while the other victim died on his way to the hospital.
He said another car ran into the Passat from behind, which made it crash on the iron rails of the bridge.
It was gathered that one of the survivors, a female who sustained minor injuries said, they were a family; the driver was her brother, one of the deceased persons, her mother and her father, but could not confirm who the other deceased aged woman was because she was still in shock.
Those with injuries were taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
When contacted, Celestina Kalu (DSP), the state police spokesperson, confirmed the tragic accident.
