Sambo Leads FG Delegation To Kogi State Over Governor Father's Death

Vice President Namadi Sambo, on Tuesday, led a Federal Government delegation to Kogi State, to commiserate with Governor Idris Wada, over his fathers' passing.  

The governor's father, Pa Wada Ejiga, reportedly died on Sunday, July 13, 2014, in Anyigba. He was 100 years of age.

 

Sambo, in his speech, stated that death is the end for every mortal being and prayed Allah to grant Pa Ejiga eternal rest and also give the family the strength to bear the loss.

 

The State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, in his remark, noted that Pa Ejiga's death was a great loss to the state, because the deceased lived a life of selfless service.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan, had on July 14, 2014, conveyed his condolence message to Governor Wada, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Dr. Ruben Abati.

“On behalf of the Federal Government, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has commiserated with the Governor of Kogi State, Captain Idris Wada and the government and people of Kogi State on the passing away of the father of the governor, Pa Wada Ejiga at the age of 100 years,” it said.

 

Jonathan also described the passing of Ejiga as a great loss, saying he was a worthy son of Kogi State who contributed in no small measure to the educational development of Igalaland in particular and the state in general.
