Bala Ngilari, Adamawa Deputy Governor, Resigns
The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngilari, who has been recently served with impeachment notice along with his boss, Murtala Nyako, resigned from his position.
According to report by PremiumTimes, the Speaker of Adamawa State Assembly, Umaru Fintiri, read Ngilari’s resignation letter at the plenary on July 15, 2014, Tuesday.
The mentioned letter has also been approved by the lawmakers.
The sitting in the House was conducted amidst high security presence in the area, both on the roads and inside the complex. The event was closed for outsiders, as only selected journalists and staff members were allowed to enter the Assembly complex today.
The Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako and his deputy, Bala Ngilari, were served with the impeachment notice almost one month ago, on June 18.
Ngilari is accused of extra-budgetary expenditure. The duo is also investigated in regard of fraudulent diversion of funds, intended for workers in the state.
The seven-member panel has been set up to conduct the proper investigation and submit a report to the House.

The committee finished this task by Monday, despite neither Nyako, nor Ngilari made an appearance before its members.
