I’ve Forgiven Those Behind My Impeachment Plot – Governor Nyako
Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State said he has forgiven all Abuja-based Adamawa politicians who were the brains behind his impeachment saga.
Governor Nyako
Nyako made this known while addressing a group of women, youths, children led by Hajiya Hauwa Abba who were at his residence to identify with his noble causes of moving the state forward in all its spheres of development and show that they are solidly behind the Governor.
He said he had joined all well-meaning citizens of the state to pray to God to also forgive them for all their machinations to polarise the state along ethnic and religious lines.
Nyako attributed the impeachment imbroglio to those he described as unpatriotic politicians that had hidden themselves under the canopy of elders of the state to cause disaffection among good people of the state.

He used the forum to restate his commitment to making a turn around in the socioeconomic development of the state, adding that nothing would discourage him from delivering the dividends of democracy to the people, promising that he would remain faithful to the social contract he has with the people.
“I will continue to keep faith with the social contract I have with the people of Adamawa State and nothing will deter me from identifying with the people. They are selfish politicians, who are out to infuse wrong impressions into the downtrodden folks of the state,” Nyako said.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Adamawa State Government, Mr. P.P.Elisha, disclosed to the gathering that Nyako declined appearance at the panel constituted by the Acting Chief Judge of the state, Justice Ambrose Mamadi, because due process of law was not followed in the said constitution of the panel.
Elisha said despite the intervention of religious leaders, traditional rulers, and prominent Nigerians, the Adamawa State lawmakers were still determined on impeaching Governor Nyako and his deputy even as he said all the efforts to resolve the crises were being truncated by the PDP stakeholders, who were hell-bent in removing the governor through illegalities.
Meanwhile it was reported on July 12, that the APC accused the ruling party, PDP of being solidly behind the impeachment of Governor Nyako.
The APC advised Nyako against handing over his resignation letter on Tuesday, but to fight the panel even after so much pressure has been mounted on him by the PDP members in the state House of Assembly.
