The official insisted that Jonathan's re-election would strengthen democracy in the the country and urged Nigerians to follow his example and vote for the current president, Channels TV reports.
Speaking in Abuja, Tukur also stated that electing Jonathan for the second term will help to consolidate ongoing infrastructural development in Nigeria.
Meanwhile the current leader has not yet officially declared his presidential ambition for 2015. However several groups have already urged him to do so.
Although the 2015 general elections are to be conducted already in February, no political party has yet come up with their presidential candidate.
It would be recalled that Tukur was removed from the position of the PDP chairman in the beginning of this year and was soon substituted with Alhaji Adamu Mu'azu. Although the story with his leave was surrounded by numerous controversies, Tukur pledged his further support to the ruling party, which he characterized as "solid, intact and united".
