According to NAN, a loaded fuel tanker, painted in the colours of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), crashed at the Nyanya end of the road. The vehicle collided with a VWGolf car, which was travelling on the opposite lane.

All the men have allegedly survived, PremiumTimes report. However, the biggest danger of the incident was the possible explosion of petrol-laden truck, owned by B.G.K Nigeria Ltd.

The police, officials of the National Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Road Safety Corps have quickly arrived at the scene of the incident.

The truck has been removed successfully at about 10:30. This ensured opening of the lane leading out of Abuja.

About 10 minutes later, the lane leading to Abuja got opened to traffic as well, returning the situation on the express back to normal.
