Omisore Promises Wealth Creation In Osun

Senator Iyiola Omisore, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed how he will transform the lives of Osun people after he wins the state governorship election.  

Speaking with The Nation journalist at Iragbiji in Boripe Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday, he promised that gainful employment and wealth creation would be given a pride of place in his administration.

Omisore stressed that job creation should be made attractive to job seekers in term of remuneration and allowance, and went ahead to condemned the present OYES employment created by the Governor Rauf Aregbesola-led administration where graduates are paid stipends and made to do menial jobs like sweeping and cutting grass.

According to him, it was too belittling for graduates to be doing such job, pointing out that such cannot be classified as gainful employment.

The gubernatorial candidate, however, revealed that he had consulted widely before unveiling his eight-point agenda that would reduce poverty as well as bring the dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the people.

Omisore further assured that artisans, traders and every other residents would benefit from the empowerment scheme that had already started with the Omisore Youth Support Forum.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate, who also promised that more aged people would benefit from the programme said: "On assumption of office, I will change the OYSF empowerment programme to Osun State Empowerment Programme so that everybody will benefit from the scheme irrespective of your political affiliation and leaning".
