5 People, Including Pregnant Woman Die In Fatal Accident on Ibadan Road

No fewer than three fatalities, including a pregnant woman, were recorded in a vehicle accident that occurred at Agbala junction area of Ibadan in Egbeda Local Government area of Oyo State, yesterday, July 6.

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, confirmed the accident and reported on three people casualties, including a pregnant woman. Although, the eyewitnesses claimed that there were six people who died in the road accident that involved three vehicles and occurred about 7 o'clock in the morning.

According to the information provided by the Egbeda Unit Commander of the FRSC, Mr. Abiodun Akinlade, nine people - three male adults, one male child, four female adults and one female child - were involved in the accident while four others sustained serious injuries.

Mr. Abiodun Akinlade said: “The accident happened around 7:30 am on Ife‑Ibadan road at Agbala junction. It involved three vehicles, including Nissan Micra with number plate YNF 963 AA; a Toyota Sienna with number plate, XD 451 KAK, and a Volkswagen Audi with number plate, FST 452 BH.”

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to Oluyoro Catholic Hospital at Apomu in Osun State. An eyewitness said three male corpses were first taken to Egbeda local government secretariat before they were moved to the morgue.
