Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport In Abuja Closed July 5-7, 2014
The governing body of Nigerian Airports (FAAN) informs that the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, will be closed to traffic for maintenance for the period from Saturday, July 5, to Monday, July 7, 2014, PMNews reports.
An official statement dated June 2, 2014, Wednesday, has been forwarded to the address of all the critical stakeholders, airmen, airlines and sister agencies concerned.
The FAAN spokesperson, Yakubu Dati, who briefed the journalists on the upcoming closure, said:
“This facility upgrade, which is in line with ICAO requirements and NCAA approved safety and Standard and Recommended Practices (SARPs), will further elevate safety and security to greater heights.”
The runway closes at 23:00 (UTC) on Saturday, reopens at 05:00 (UTC) on Monday.
