National Conference Members Gripped By Fear Of Another Boko Haram Attack In Abuja

Members of the ongoing National conference in Abuja were Monday, June 30, gripped with fear of a possible Boko Haram attack, following a recent message received by one of the delegates.

Punch reports that a delegate, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), told other members of the conference that he had received a message on his telephone of a possible attack by members of the sect in Abuja this week.

The message reads: "News got to us that our enemy is planning something bigger than Nyayan bomb blast between Tuesday and Wednesday in Abuja. Mind your movement and be careful. The date is still unknown. Please, pass it around to save loved ones."

This turned out to be a topic of discussion for some of the delegates who spoke about it among themselves.

A delegate who pleaded anonymity said, “We are in trouble in this country. Bombings everywhere. When will this stop? Even here, we don’t know what is going to happen. Things are so bad in the country. Things are so bad."

Last week Wednesday, Emab Plaza on Aminu Kano Crescent in Wuse 2 in Abuja was bombed, leaving about 21 people dead and others badly injured.

This recent blast came on the heels of an explosion which rocked Nyanya in Abuja in May, leaving many dead and several injured.

Also, in April, an explosion rocked Abuja urban mass transport company limited garage under the bridge at Nyanya which left many dead.
