Abia State Police Uncover Training Ground For Kidnappers, Arrest 37
A training school for kidnappers, located in one Ugorji compound at Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia state has been uncovered by policemen in the state.
37 suspected kidnappers were arrested in the compound during the raid by the police, Daily Independent reports.
Speaking to newsmen in Umuahia as the suspects were being paraded, Commissioner of Police, Admu Ibrahim said the raid was carried out following a tip that some hoodlums were using the compound located at Umuoke Village near Bible College Road, as a training ground for kidnappers.

Paraded alongside the 37 suspects was a suspected kidnapper who had kidnapped one Ikechukwu Chiedogo but he was caught after the wife of the victim informed the police of the incident. The anti-terror squad had chased the fleeing kidnapper and his gang and a gun battle had ensued, which left two of the abductors dead.
The police boss assured residents of their safety as security agencies in the state has since stepped up surveillance in the state to ensure safety of lives and property.
It would be recalled that two structures belonging to suspected kidnappers in Ogidi and Ojoto communities in Idemili North and South Local Government Areas of Anambra state were demolished on June 17 by security agents.
Two days ago, a ritualists den where kidnapped children and adults were allegedly kept as hostages, was uncovered in Majidun area of Ikorodu, Lagos State.
