Nigeria Government Takes Delivery Of Special Military Equipment From US
The United States of America on Wednesday said it delivered a special military equipment to the Nigerian army to help fight Boko Haram.
According to ThisDay, this was made known in a statement issued by the Public Affairs section of the United States embassy.
The United States Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria, who confirmed the delivery of the equipment said, it was in fulfillment of its promise that it would give technical support to the Nigerian government in finding and bringing back the over 234 school girls that were abducted by Boko Haram over two months ago.

It revealed that the sophisticated military transportation and communication gadgets that was delivered to the Nigerian Armed Force in Abuja, was to ensure a successful operation.
"The United States Government transferred to the Nigerian Army non-lethal transportation, communication and force protection equipment in support of the Nigerian Army’s battle against terrorism" it said.
The statement said that General James B. Linder, Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command in Africa, personally delivered the equipment on Monday to Major General Ibrahim Sani, Chief of Army Transformation and Innovation.

It said the new equipments are expected to enhance Nigerian Armed Forces war against insurgency.
"Major General Ibrahim Sani, Chief of Army Transformation and Innovation, received the equipment from General Linder on behalf of the Nigerian Army. He said the equipment will enhance the operational capabilities of the Nigerian Army" it added.
Meanwhile, the United States and some other foreign countries had previously assured the Nigerian government of their assistance towards the rescue operation of the abducted chibok girls.
