Celebrations In Ekiti After Fayose's Victory

After the results from the Ekiti Governorship Elections were announced and Mr Ayodele Fayose, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was declared the winner of the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State the PDP flag bearer supporters poured into the streets of Ekiti.

Thousands of PDP supporters were seen celebrating the victory of their chosen one. Fayose, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was declared the winner of the June 21 governorship election in Ekiti State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) 4am on Sunday, 22 June, 2014.

According to the electoral body, the former governor of Ekiti from 2003 to 2006 scored 203, 090 number of votes to beat the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Fayemi, who scored 120, 433 votes, to the second position while the candidate of the Labour Party, Bamidele Michael Opeyemi scored 18,135 votes to come third.
