APC Youths Back Jonathan For 2015 Presidency
Less than eight months before the 2015 presidential elections, the youth wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state has declared their support for the 2015 presidential ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Vanguard reports that the APC youths acknowledged that Jonathan is running under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but said that they decided to back the incumbent president because of what they described as his resilience and tolerance for opposition parties.
It was gathered that the youths however, pointed out that “we are only going to support President Jonathan because he is our brother from the South South, but not the PDP in Edo state.
They also added that they are "going to work for the victory of APC candidates in Edo state both in 2015 and 2016 because we gave the PDP opportunity in Edo state and for ten years they did not achieve anything for our people before God gave us Oshiomhole."
Comrade Tony Kabaka Adun, who spoke on behalf of the youths, assured that Edo youths will mobilize for President Jonathan’s success in 2015, adding that “unlike most PDP leaders in this state, the President is tolerant and he is doing his best to tackle the insecurity in the state."
He stated further that: "He is our son from the South South and we want him to continue for another term."
Adun further commended the leadership qualities of Governor Adams Oshiomhole in the state, saying, "we will continue to support him and whoever he will hand over to."
He also hailed the emergence of Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as the National Chairman of the APC, saying that his emergence was “the manifestation of the internal democracy being practiced in APC and we urge him to bring all aggrieved members together."
