Edo Auto Crash Claims Four

Four persons have been confirmed dead in an accident that occurred mid-day along Ikpoba Slope, Benin City, Edo State.

This was made known to newsmen by the state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Commander, Mr Luka Ikpi.

He said that the accident which involved a truck and an Audi 80 saloon car occurred when the cement laden truck with registration number YKS144XA, collided with the car marked BEN512AQ while trying to dodge a stationary tanker parked by the roadside.

“The truck driver thought the tanker was on motion not knowing it was stationary, and before he could realise it he ran into the Audi 80 car” Ikpi said.

According to him, six people sustained injuries, including five males and a female, but four died on the spot while the others were taken to the hospital for medical attention.
