Police Finds Missing Nigerian Student

A 22 year old Nigerian man Uyobong Ukonne who has been missing since May 25 was yesterday found in the Delaware River around 5.45pm by the Police.

Uyobong who just graduated from New Jersey City University with a degree in chemistry on May 15th went out with friends on a rafting trip near Lumberland, N.Y where he drowned after taking off his life jacket and jumped into the water to swim.

Apparently the deceased had told his friends he wasn't a good swimmer before swimming in the 20-foot cold river.

Joe Hinkes, chief ranger of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River said his body was found 5 miles downstream from where he was last seen on May 25.

Uyobong had planned to visit his mother in Nigeria next month before his untimely death.
