According to a statement issued the National Publicity Secretary of the forum, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim, in Kaduna on May 31, 2014, Saturday, the sect must stop endless murders and destruction. At the same time, the renowned socio-political group wanted FG to ensure transparency in the execution of such a program.
The statement further condemned the daring insurgents’ attack on Borno Emirs’ convoy on Friday, which resulted in the death of the Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Idrissa Timta. It would be noted that the late monarch ascended to the throne as a third class chief in October 1981. He reached the first class status by January 2014.
The ACF condoled with both the government and the people of Borno State. The forum prayed for the deceased Emir and for his family.
However, the Presidency, in the person of Dr Reuben Abati, noted that President Goodluck Jonathan neither used the word ‘amnesty’ in his latest speeches, nor made any principally new offers to Boko Haram terrorists.
