Bayelsa Speaker's 90-Year-Old Mother-In-Law Kidnapped

Bayelsa State House of Assembly Speaker Hon. Kombowei Benson today was hit with the news that his 90 year-old mother-in-law Madam Ogboro Dark has been kidnapped by armed men.

The elderly lady popularly known as Obololo was taken by gunmen in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state.

She was taken in her hometown at around 2.00 am this morning, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) revealed that the armed men were said to have entered her home community through the waterside in three speed boats.

A witness told the reporters: “the gunmen came at about 2.00 am.

“They shot sporadically before making their way to the woman’s home; we were all afraid because of the gunshots.“They seized her and took her away to an unknown place. “They showed no pity at the age of the woman,” the source said.

Police Commissioner in the state Mr Hilary Opara has confirmed the kidnapping saying his men have already started investigating the abduction.
