Soldiers Dismissed from Army for "No Just Reason," Naij.com Readers Say

Our reader Sarah Jonah sent her distress call to our Facebook message inbox.

According to her, two months ago, eight soldiers with the 242 Recce Battalion, Ibereko Barracks, Badagry, Lagos State, were dismissed from the Army for no just reason. The official explanation was that they have refused to be deployed to Maiduguri, Borno State capital, to fight the Boko Haram terrorist sect.

According to Sarah, the soldiers were present at the paradeground and did not run away.

Our reader says that the soldiers receive special training and had already spent about nine months in Maiduguri and came back.

She says the dismissed soldiers were innocent and have to feed their families, and pleads with the Nigerian Army to call them back.
