Jost Blast - Plateau SG Bans Street Hawking, Updates On Death Toll
The State Government of Plateau has put a ban on street hawking in Jos, following May 20 Terminus market twin bomb explosions.

The local government would start relocating hawkers from Murtala Muhammed way, Ahmadu Bello way, Terminus area to Rukuba Road satellite market within the capital city.
The state government also intended to move all the street motor parks in the central business Area of Ahmadu Bello way and street markets and traders on Murtala Muhammed way and Terminus area move to approved motor parks.
Meanwhile the authorities updated Nigerians on “more realistic” death toll of May 20 blasts.
It has been previously reported that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) put the number of dead people at 118, while a medical source at local hospital in Jos claimed that up to 200 bodies were deposited in morgues after the blast. However, the government of Plateau state insisted that 78 people have been killed by terrorist attack.

Ifedayo Adegunde, the Chairman of the House Committee on Emergency and Disaster Preparedness, tagged this figure as more reliable.
He further promised that the committee would ensure that hospital bills of the victims undergoing treatment were jointly paid by the Federal Government and the Government of Plateau State.
