Boko Haram Attack Borno Village, Kill 40, Residents Say

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have launched a bloody attack on Gurmushi village, Marte LGA, Borno State, killing at least 40, residents say.

Although the official information has not been provided yet, New Telegraph reports details with reference to the attack survivor, who pleaded anonymity saying:

"I counted over 40 corpses, while the village was completely razed down; most of us ran into the bush for safety."

Speaking with BBC Hausf Service, another local claimed however that 42 people had been killed, while the 12 injured were rushed to Cameroonian hospital located near the border between the neighbouring countries. She added that in fear for their lives and terrified over possible coming attacks village residents had all fled to Cameroon.
