The sultan further reminded that Islamic virtue was against forceful conversion, so the Islamists’ action was against the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, who promoted peaceful co-existence during his life time.

Sa’ad Abubakar III declared this in Ibadan on May 23, 2014, Friday, while commissioning of a mosque by the Islamic community in Bodija.

The sultan, who spoke in presence of the Governor of Oyo State, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, condemned the abduction and conversion, tagged them as “ungodly and unIslamic.”

It would be noted that a video by Boko Haram terrorists, released on May 12, 2014, showed about 130 Chibok female students dressed in full-length hijabs and reciting words from the Qur’an.

According to the words by the sect leader, Abubakar Shekau, the girls had saved themselves by converting to Islam, otherwise they would have been killed immediately.

The abduction saga has started almost 40 days ago, between April 14-15, 2014. Despite all the efforts by the Federal Government and the global community, it was not possible to locate the girls till present. Despite the recent Boko Haram offer on negotiating the prisoner swap, Jonathan’s administration is targeted to power method of solving the crisis.
