Survivors Of Kano Blast Recall The Terrible Things They Saw
After the Sunday bombing of the predominantly Christian Sabon Gari area of Kano, which claimed 5 lives (including the suicide bomber), an eyewitness Ibeabuchi and other survivors, narrated the terrible things they saw.
Speaking with Leadership, Ibeabuchi said he heard a loud blast and fell down unconscious, and when he came to himself, he saw people severely injured, with parts of their body ripped off.
Ibeabuchi was quoted saying:
"I saw a young boy burning helplessly. There was a girl I saw on the ground whom I knew was selling fish along that street; the bomb ripped her stomach open. I also saw a dead man on the floor. He used to sell ‘Suya’ and his leg was cut off."
The man shocked with the bloody sights of the tragedy scene begged for the federal government to find the way of handling insurgency in the country.
Leadership correspondent arrived at the scene around 11pm and saw a young man rolling in agony on the ground, because he saw his brothers killed and injured by the attack. The devastated man exclaimed:
"What did we do to them that they are bombing us like this?"
Raymond Chibueze, another eyewitness, said his sister Gloria Ibe was severely injured and taken by him to the military hospital. Despite the serious harm made to her body, Gloria is luckily responding to treatment.
According to what Raymond was told by the hospital staff, out of those taken to the military hospital after the incident 3 people died.
Meanwhile the officially confirmed number of casualties corresponds 5 (including the suicide bomber).
