#BringBackOurGirls: Christians And Muslims Gather In Abuja For Vigil (Photos)

It's been a month since over 200 girls were kidnapped from their school by Boko Haram during a night raid in Chibok community, Borno State.

Vigil held to mark Chibok girls 1 month in captivity

To mark their one month in captivity, over 200 people gathered on Wednesday, May 14 at the ThisDay Dome, Abuja for a vigil to pray for the release of the abducted girls.

The event was attended by the Former Minister for Education, Oby Ezekwesili, Otunba Dino Melaye, Mallam El Rufai, parents of the kidnapped Chibok girls and several other protesters.

Together, they all poured out their heart to God, calling for His intervention.

Speaking during the event, Ezekwesili said that the vigil was organised to enable both Christians and Muslims alike to cry in one voice to God for the safe return of the 234 girls who have been missing for a month now.

One of the parents of the abducted children, Rev Enoch Mark, whose two daughters were abducted, said that he was yet to identify his daughters from the video released by the Boko Haram sect, adding that the number of people who have come out to rally round the Chibok community has given him hope.
