Jungle Justice: Man Luckily Escapes Death From Mob

A man was yesterday brought to the Abeokuta magistrate’s court in Isabo, for pouring petrol and trying to burn a Philemon Tule, whom he accused of robbery and then kidnapping.

The man, 35 Year-old Jamiu Animashaun gathered a lot of people and beat up Tule, then later poured petrol before a good samaritan saved Tule.

The Investigating Police Officer in charge of the case, Moronfolu Olumide revealed this and also that the crime occurred Wednesday, at Lagos Road, Lafenwa, Abeokuta.

She said Jamiu had claimed that Tule stole his wife's phone and ran away on Monday, and when he returned on Wednessday, They caught him and decided to deal with him.

Moronfolu Olumide said: “They tagged him kidnapper which attracted the accused and others at large to catch him and started beating with planks and then poured petrol on him before he was rescued.

The case prosecuter, Augustin Ozimini revealed to the court that the offence to sections 351 and 516 of the Criminal Code Vol. 1 of the revised Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.
