Ikuforiji Willing To Succeed Babtunde Fashola In 2015
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Sabit Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has officially announced about his intentions to run for the governorship in 2015.

The statement was made during the second ‘Breakfast meeting with the Speaker’ in Ikuforiji's official residence at Joel Ogunnaike Street, GRA, Ikeja, on Tuesday, 6th May. The Speaker declared his readiness and desire to succeed the current governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, whose term ends in 2015.
The Ikuforiji's aspiration was earlier expressed by the lawmaker and the Chairman of the State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Hon. Segun Ganiyu Olulade, at the last week Assembly meeting.
The Speaker is a member of a number of Committees within the House. He is the Member of the Education Committee, Member of the Commerce and Industry Committee and the Member of the Environment Committees.
He has been honoured as the Best Speaker in Nigeria by the National Leadership Award in Abuja and seen as one of the front runners for APC’s ticket. Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji was first elected Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly on 29th December, 2005.
Following his victory at the April 14th 2007 General Elections, he was returned to represent Epe Constituency II in the State Legislature under the aegis of Action Congress (AC) now Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
Presently he is representing Ikeja State Constituency 1. At the inauguration of the 6th Assembly in 2007, he became the first Legislator to serve as a Speaker for two consecutive terms.
