With people gathering at protests all over the world urging governmental officials to step up and search for the abducted girls, other Nigerian female students feel very insecure in schools and that is not surprising.
There were three girls interviewed. They all agreed that all students did not feel safe at school anymore, and they now rush home every day after school avoiding any extra-curricular activities. They also thought about staying at home and not going to school, but at home they feel worse.
There is now already a large number of girls not going to school in the North, and parents in future will not be allowing the girls to go there. Moreover, parents will not be allowing their daughters to go to schools or universities because they would still be afraid for them.
The girls interviewed say that they need to go to school and agree that most of them still have great dreams to pursue the education. While before more girls wanted to stay home and just be mothers. Girls say that all girls in Nigeria to get education to have influence and to become a better person for the society.
Over 200 young girls were kidnapped from their school in Borno by Boko Haram militants 3 weeks ago.
