Police Parade 4 Poly Students Over Robbery, Cultism
The Police Command of Kwara State paraded four students of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, over armed robbery and cultism.
The police revealed on April 22, 2014, Tuesday that the suspects, identified as Bamikole Emmanuel, Olawuyi Babatunde, Osadahin Matthew and Adebisi confessed of being the members of a cult group, Eiye Confraternity.
The cultists on April 18, 2014, Friday, attacked and robbed a man of his property, which included N30,000 cash, laptops, four assorted telephones and one deck with speakers.
The victim was a neighbour to one of the suspects and was identified as Adeolu Emmanuel.
The hoodlums have allegedly dropped two Kalashnikov (AK-47) rifles in a bush close to the institution. However, the police were able to retrieve them.
The four suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
The local police expressed concern over increased involvement of students of tertiary institutions in criminal activities.
It would be recalled that in March 2014 a female student of College of Technology, Offa, was paraded by Kwara state police for suspected cultist activities and for allegedly luring her friend to be gang-raped by five of her cult members.
