A Nigerian singer-songwriter, harmonica player, and businessman, Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D'banj, visited some victims of Nyanya bomb blast on Tuesday in Abuja.

On his visit at the Asokoro District Hospital in Abuja the celebrity noted that government alone cannot garantee peace in the country and urged Nigerian youths to avoid violence and embrace peace.

“I am a Nigerian and I am affected by any tragedy that befalls us and particularly in the spirit of Easter, I came to show the victims support.

I have seen that the survivors are responding positively to treatment and thanked the medical team here for the efforts.

We are appealing to the perpetrators of these acts to have a rethink and support the peace initiative so that our people would not be subjected to such wickedness,” he said.

D-banj also described Nigerians as peace loving people and he thought it weird that in such a peaceable сountry terrorism was flourishing.

D-banj in company of the FCT Health Secretary, Dr. Ademola Onakomaiya, called on people in the entertainment industry to support the Federal Government’s fight against terrorism by creating awareness in their performances.

The singer highlighted the power of art as a communication tool amongst Nigerian youths and urged artistes to unite and produce songs, plays, paintings that would decry and discourage terrorism.

He said that artistes should be concerned about achieving peace in Nigeria to produce an effective medium in creating awareness.

Onakomaiya said that D-banj's visit made a big difference in the patients's state of health, all of them are really excited to see D-banj.

According to the hospital management, over 27 bodies and 26 victims were brought from the blast,16 were still receiving treatment.
