The event which was to hold at the Opolo Secondary School field in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital washowver put on hold after the police got news that a group of miscreants were planning to attack and disrupt the rally, causing mayhem.
A statement by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hilary Opara reads, “This is to inform the general public that Bayelsa State Police Command has directed the members of the group known as New Dawn Initiative Development to reschedule their rally billed to take place at Opolo Secondary School, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State today."
The statement added that the planned attack could lead to breach of peace, and the police had already observed the actual gathering of the mob at the venue.
