President Jonathan, Security Chiefs At Closed-Door Meeting To Discuss Insecurity In Nigeria.

President Goodluck Jonathan is holding a closed-door meeting with the members of the National Security Council to discuss the current security situation in some parts of the country, the presidential spokesperson Reuben Abati said.

The meeting has commenced at 11am at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

In attendance are Vice-President Namadi Sambo, the National Security Adviser, the Minister of Defence, service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police.

The negotiations are to be followed by an enlarged meeting on security developments in the country to all the states governors are invited. It is scheduled for 1pm.

The meeting comes after nearly 80 people died in a heavy explosion in Nyanya bus park in Abuja on Monday, and more than 100 school girls were abducted in Chibok, Borno State by suspected Boko Haram the same day.
