South African Businessman Drugs Woman To Coma In Lagos Hotel
A 22-year-old lady, Awe Rebecca narrowly escaped death last Saturday at Carlton Gate hotel in Festac Town, Lagos after she was allegedly drugged by a South African businessman until she went into coma.
According to report, the victim came into the hotel located at 7th Avenue area of the town at about 3pm to meet a guest who was lodging at the hotel and then about two hours later, the guest came down to call a porter into his room. When the porter got there, he saw a lady lying on the floor with blood coming out of her private part.
The hotel’s manager, Andrew Iyere said, "The porter came to call me. When I got there, I saw the lady’s lifeless body with blood coming from her private part. I was scared. The guest had dragged her back to the bed. There was a bottle of Vodka and Alomo bitters in the room and those items were not purchased from the hotel."
Andrew said the guest was acting like an insane person and so he quickly called security guards who came and locked him up in the room and also called his uncle who owns the hotel. He was told to call the police which he did.
When the police arrived and the guest saw them, he started threatening everybody, saying he was going to deal with the hotel and make sure the policemen lose their job as he was a rich South African-based businessman.
He was however arrested by the police and whisked away while the victim was taken to the City of David Hospitals Limited on 721 Road, where she is being treated.
Speaking on the incident, Doctor Austeen Akaehomen, said the lady is not dead but is deeply unconscious and the blood may be due to an infection or a recent abortion as there was no tear of any kind. He said she was drugged but not raped.
Confirming the incident, a senior police officer at the FESTAC Police Station where the suspect is being detained said the suspect was brought in around 7.30pm last Saturday.
