Man Who Tweeted Live Photos Of Boko Haram Jail Break In Abuja Released

Yusuf Siyaka Onimisi aka Ciaxon, 32-year-old man, who tweeted live photos of attempted jailbreak at the State Security Service headquarter that happened in Abuja on March 30th has been released.

Yusuf Siyaka Onimisi, a staff of PHCN at the Aso Villa in Abuja was allegedly whisked away by officials in mufti and detained by the Department of State Security Services, after posting the photos of the jail break online.

Yusuf with twitter handle @ciaxon, was finally released after 12 days in captivity, according to his uncle, Mahmud Yakub.

There had been worries and concerns over the life and whereabout of the 32-year-old engineer, Isiaka Yusuf's as activists even held a protest demanding his release and created a hastag for him freeCiaxon.

Politicians  like former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former World Bank Vice-President, Oby Ezekwesili and former FCT minister, Nasir El-Rufai, had called for his release after Amnesty International raised the alarm that the detained Citizen Reporter was at a risk of extra-judicial killing.

Meanwhile of one of his relatives, who described herself as his auntie confirmed saying he simply returned home after he was released, and after he returned home, a driver was asked to drive him to Okene in Kogi state to visit his mother, who she said was apprehensive and was longing to see him.

Asked about Mr. Siyaka’s health, the woman simply said he was in good health and did not appear traumatised.
