Genevieve was born in May 3, 1979 in Mbaise, Imo State but grew up in Lagos and is the fourth of eight children.
She grew up in a middle class enviroment, her father was an engineer and her mother a teacher. She won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005.
