Man's wife-to-be afraid he would leave her just like his father left him
A bride is convinced that her fiancee will eventually leave her just as his father left his family. The fiancee asks how to prove otherwise.
I'm at a loss. The date of our wedding comes nearer. I love her with all my heart, I have made a promise to cherish and support her no matter what.
But recently, I've started noticing changes in her behaviour. Always cheerful and affectionate, she's now nervous, moody and silent. I thought this was because of the "wedding stress" and tried not to be too annoying, granted her some personal space.
As I have said, we are soon to get married. We attend counselling sessions with our Pastor at our local church. This Sunday, my lovely bride broke down in tears before me and the Pastor and said she wanted to quit the relationship. Her excuse? My father left us soon after I was born, and she fears I would do the same.
Three days have passed. Believe me, I've tried to talk to her, and I will again. I don't want to involve our family members in the matter yet. So maybe you could offer your advice on what I should do to convince my bride to do the wedding after all and prove her I am nothing like my absent father. Thank you.
