Plane Mishap Averted, As Pilot Makes Emergency Landing In Lagos

Overland Airways plane mishap was averted yesterday, as the emergency landing was made midway because of the windshield break.

The plane carrying 57 passengers, including National Conference delegates and government officials, was heading from Ibadan to Abuja.

Somewhere in the middle of the journey, close to Minna, Niger State capital, the plane's windshield got shattered and the pilot was forced to land in Lagos to avoid a tragic outcome.

The former president of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Prince Lanre Ogundipe, who was also on board, confirmed the incident.

After the landing the passengers were kept at one of the hangars at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, then they were later moved into another Overland aircraft arriving from Enugu. Soon after, they were finally taken to Abuja.
