Sultan Pronounces Tambuwal Matawallen Sokoto

On Monday, April 7, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’ad III, pronounced the Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal as the Matawalin Sokoto.

Abubakar announced the title at the turbanning ceremony of 21 new District Heads recently appointed by Gov. Aliyu Wamakko, according to NAN.

The Sultan of Sokoto stated that the title will be formally bestowed on Tambuwal at a later date.

He added: "This is in appreciation of the credible style of leadership of the Speaker at the House of Representatives. It is also in recognition of the sterling contributions of Tambuwal to sustainable peace and unity of Nigeria."

Abubakar warned the new district heads to steer clear of politics, urging them to carry everybody along.

The Sultan said that they should discharge their duties diligently and employ their wealth of experience to complement the efforts of the government and the Sultanate council of Sokoto.

“You should also give priority to the welfare, security and the socioeconomic prosperity of the people,” the Sultan charged them.

Abubakar urged the district heads to always be guided by the fear of God in the discharge of their duties.

It was gathered that the event was attended by Tambuwal, his colleagues from the state and by former President Shehu Shagari.
