2015: No One Can Stop Jonathan, We Have Been Feeding Nigerians For 50 Years – Bayelsa Indigenes

In less than ten months to the 2015 presidential election, some indegenes of Bayelsa State, particularly from Ogbia Local Government, President Goodluck Jonathan’s country home, have declared that the President must run for second term.

They said this at the weekend in Ogbia during the formal adoption of President Jonathan as their sole candidate for the 2015 presidential election.

The well attended event, which was packaged by Ogbia Graduates Forum for Positive Change also witnessed lectures, rally and book presentation on the achievements of Jonathan.

Delivering a lecture on ‘A call for President Jonathan re-election bid: A collective responsibility’, Awudumapu Agorodi, Special Adviser to Bayelsa Governor on Youth Mobilisation, said those trying to harass Jonathan out of office would not succeed, adding that Jonathan would rule till 2019.

Agorodi noted that the Ijaw nation had fed the country for over 50 years, yet some power mongers would not let Jonathan be as the first Ijaw man to be President of Nigeria.

Hear him, “Ijaw soil has been feeding Nigeria for over 50 years. Our resources are good for the country but we are not qualified enough to be president of Nigeria.”

Also speaking at the event, an aide to Governor Seriake Dickson on Mobilisation, Mr. Austin Iworibo, insisted that Jonathan must run.

“He must run whether he likes it or not because our lives and destinies are in his hands. 2015 is a must project, though it is not a do or die affair,” he said.

In his own remarks, Chairman, Planning Committee, OGFPC, Pastor Awudumu Audu, said the revolution that Nigeria desired was silently taking place under Jonathan’s administration.

“Jonathan’s election to the seat of power is a symbolic representation of “a paradigm shift, a renaissance, a new age, a new dawn in Nigeria,” he said.
